Thermal Stability

In the temperature range of 110 °C - 170 °C, an endothermic effect was observed. An exothermic effect was detected in the temperature range of 190 - 260 °C, with a decomposition energy of -160 J/g. The exothermic effect was directly followed by a second endothermic effect in the temperature range of 260 - 270 °C. The test was terminated at 300 °C. The results are summarized in the following table.

Effusion method: Knudsen cell

The vapour pressure was measured in the temperature range of 81 to 111 °C. The measured vapour pressure values together with the measured temperatures are listed in the following table.

Since no evaluable vapour pressure curve could be determined using the Knudsen cell method a further measurement was carried out using the vapour pressure balance.

Effusion method: Vapour pressure balance

The measurement was performed in the temperature range of 28 to 168 °C. The measured vapour pressure values together with the measured temperatures are listed in the following table.

In the investigated temperature range from 28 to 168 °C no evaluable vapour pressure curve could be detected. Due to fact that the test item starts to decompose at a temperature of approx. 190 °C, the measurement was aborted.

Final Results

The test item showed no evaluable vapour pressure curve in the temperature range of 28 to 168 °C. Due to this result, the Antoine constant cannot be evaluated and the vapour pressure for the temperatures 20, 25 and 50 °C is estimated on the basis of the measured vapour pressures in the temperature range of 28 - 58 °C, according to Regulation EC No. 440/2008 Method A.4. Vapour Pressure and OECD Test Guideline 104 (2006).

Description of key information

Vapour pressure: < 0.001 Pa at 20 °C, 25 °C and 50 °C (OECD Guideline 104, effusion method: vapour pressure balance)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The test item showed no evaluable vapour pressure curve in the temperature range of 28 to 168 °C. Due to this result, the Antoine constant cannot be evaluated and the vapour pressure for the temperatures 20, 25 and 50 °C is estimated on the basis of the measured vapour pressures in the temperature range of 28 - 58 °C (5.19E-4 - 5.98E-4 Pa), according to Regulation EC No. 440/2008 Method A.4. Vapour Pressure and OECD Test Guideline 104 (2006).
