Replicate (Blank Control): 1 vessel, containing 7 L test medium and 7 fish
Details on test conditions:
Individual size (wet weight and total length) was measured in a subsample of 10 fish from the same batch used in the study, in the week before the start of the test.
At least 24 hours before the start of the test, the test fish were no longer fed.
Before the fish were set into the aquaria, temperature adaptation has taken place.
Temperature, pH and O2-concentrations were recorded every 24 ± 1 hours. Hardness, Ni-trate and TOC were measured at the beginning of the test in the Blank control.
Observations were made after 1 ± 0.5 h, 4 ± 1 h and 24 ± 1 h after the start of the expo-sure (day 0-1). On days 2-3 of the test, all vessels were inspected twice per day (morning and afternoon). On day 4 of the test, all vessels were inspected only once per day in the morning because the test was already finished.
Test criterion is the death of the fish.
The content of the test item in the test vessels was measured at the beginning and at the end of the test.

Conclusions:
The following result for the test item 3-acetylthiazolidine-4-carboxylic acid could be deter-mined:
96h-LC50 > 100 mg/L
Executive summary:

One valid experiment was performed.
The toxicity towards Danio rerio was tested using a static test design.
The study was performed as a limit test at the concentration 100 mg/L nominal.
The tested concentration showed no mortality. No fish died or showed any signs of abnor-mal behavior in the blank control and the treatment.
At the beginning and at the end of the test, the content of the test item in the test solutions was determined using HPLC-UV -determination. The concentration determined at the start of the test was 104 % of the nominal concentration. At the end of the test the determined concentration was 106 % of the nominal concentration. Therefore, the determination of the biological result was based on the nominal concentration (see Guidance Doc. No.23 (§176)).

The following result for the test item 3-acetylthiazolidine-4-carboxylic acid could be deter-mined:

96h-LC50 > 100 mg/L
