Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

The substance is insoluble or only poorly soluble in water. A suitable selective and sensitive chromatographical method for the determination of the test item in aqueous solutions could not be established. Therefore an accompanying analysis by means of a chromatographical method could not be performed. The quantification of the test item was performed by DOC determination in all ecotoxicity tests except for the toxicity towards microorganisms.

For fish (Danio rerio) the acute toxicity of the substance was > 100 mg/l (96h-LC50). The study was conducted under semi-static conditions in accordance with Council Regulation (EC) No 440/2008, Method C.1 which is in most parts equivalent to the OECD Guideline for Testing of Chemicals No. 203. No toxic effects against fish were observed at a limit test concentration of 100 mg/L under exposure conditions. The result is expressed in terms of nominal concentration.

Concerning the acute toxicity towards aquatic invertebrates, an EC50 of > 100 mg/l was obtained after 48 hours. The study was conducted under semi-static conditions to a limit concentration of 100 mg/l according to Directive 92/69/EEC, C.2 which is in most parts equivalent to the OECD Guideline No. 202. No toxic effects on mortality against Daphnia were observed after 48 h. The result is expressed in terms of nominal concentrations.

To assess the effects of the substance on the reproductive output of parthenogenetic Daphnia magna a study was performed under semi static conditions in accordance with Council Regulation (EC) No 440/2008, Method C.20 'Daphnia magna Reproduction Test'' (2008), which equals in all relevant parts to the OECD Test guideline 211 (Daphnia magna Reproduction Test; adopted: Oct. 03, 2008). After a 21 d exposure period, the total number of living offspring produced per parent animal alive at the end of the test was assessed. No toxic effects on reproduction and mortality against Daphnia were observed up to three-fold of the water solubility under exposure conditions. A NOEC of > 10 mg/l is obtained expressed in terms of nominal concentrations.

In 72 h the concentration of the substance which reduces the growth rate of Scenedesmus subspicatus by 50 % is > 100 mg/l, relating to nominal concentration. The experiment was conducted in accordance with Commission Regulation (EC) No 761/2009 amending Regulation No 440/2008, Method C.3 which is equivalent to OECD Guideline for Testing of Chemicals No. 201 'Alga, Growth Inhibition Test' (2006). The result is expressed in terms of nominal concentration.

Assessing the toxicity towards microorganisms, the substance showed 0 % respiration inhibition of activated sludge at the highest test item concentration of 1000 mg/l according to the OECD guideline 209. An EC10 and an EC50 of >1000 mg/l were obtained in this test.
