PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

Taking into account the lack of biodegradation in a ready biodegradation test, the substance 4 -amino-m-cresol is considered as persistent or very persistent. Its log Kow is 0.51 and on the basis of this low log Kow, it is considered as not Bioaccumulable or Very Bioaccumulable. The substance is not classified as carcinogenic (category 1A or 1B), germ cell mutagenic (category 1A or 1B), or toxic for reproduction (category 1A, 1B or 2) and the available data do not require the substance to be classified for repeated toxicity effects. The acute toxicity data on fish is higher than 0.1 mg/L and the chronic toxicity data assessed on daphnia (reproduction test) is also higher than 0.1 mg/L, however the 72h-EC10_growth rate on algae is equal to 0.0098 mg/L. Since one chronic result is less than 0.01 mg/L, the 4 -amino-m-cresol is considered as toxic to the aquatic organisms.

The substance 4 -amino-m-cresol is P/vP, and Toxic, however it is not B/vB. Therefore 4-amino-m-cresol is Not PBT and Not vP/vB.
