Classification:

Three acute endpoints for three different trophic levels are available. All three endpoints are greater than the water solubility limit.

Three chronic endpoint are available for all three trophic levels, the most sensitive species is fish with a NOEC of 0.073 mg/L.

The substance is readily biodegradability and has a log Kow of 3.75.

Acute endpoints are all > maximum water solubility, therefore under Regulation (EU) No 286/2011 (2nd ATP to CLP) Ethylene dibenzoate is not classified acute aquatic hazardous.

The substance is readily biodegradable and the chronic NOEC for fish is between 0.01 and 0.1 mg/L. This would lead to Category chronic 2.
