Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Short-term aquatic toxicity data are available for each of the three freshwater trophic levels (fish, daphnia and algae). Experimental studies are available for daphnia (EC50 = 44 mg/L) and for algal inhibition (ErC50 = 62mg/L, NOEC = 10 mg/L). In the absence of experimental data, the acute toxicity to fish has been assessed using a QSAR approach. The QSAR approach works within the spirit of REACH and the stated aim of the legislation to reduce animal testing where possible. The predicted fish 96-hr LC50 value using the ECOSAR v1.11 Neutral Organic SAR is 51.451 mg/L. The applicability of the Neutral Organic SAR class to the prediction of aquatic toxicity for the registration substance is supported by a comparison of predicted and measured values for the daphnia and algae endpoints. The predicted daphnia 48h EC50 is 30 mg/L (measured value = 44 mg/L) and the predicted green algae 96h EC50 is 26 mg/L (measured 72h value is 62mg/L).

Toxicity to microorganisms was assessed as part of a standardised ready biodegradation test. The substance did not inhibit degradation of the positive control at a test concentration of 100mg/L. Thus this concentration can be considered the NOEC for toxicity to STP microorganisms.
