Description of key information

The lower flammability limit of ethylene glycol n-hexyl ether (2-hexyloxyethanol) is 0.9 vol% (LFL Temp. 356 K (82.85 °C)) and the upper flammability limit is 10 vol% (UFL Temp. 409 K (135.85 °C)). The flash point of ethylene glycol n-hexyl ether is 91.5 °C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
non flammable

Additional information

Ethylene glycol n-hexyl ether has a flash point greater than 55 °C (91 °C) and a boiling point greater than 35 °C (208 °C). Therefore classification for flammability according to EU criteria is not required.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Ethylene glycol n-hexyl ether has a flash point greater than 55 °C (91 °C) and a boiling point greater than 35 °C (208 °C). Therefore classification for flammability according to EU criteria is not required.
