Description of key information

Studies were performed to assess the acute toxicity of the test item to three trophic levels using the following species Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata (Freshwater algae), Daphnia magna (invertebrate) and Oncorhynchus mykiss (fish).  The methods were designed to be compatible with the relevant OECD Guidelines for Testing of Chemicals and conducted in accordance with Good Laboratory Standards (GLP)

Freshwater fish

A 96-hour fish acute toxicity study was conducted in accordance with OECD203 using Oncorhynchus mykiss, The 96h-LC50 was estimated to be >47 mg/L (limit dose, based on algal ErC50)

Freshwater algae

Exposure of Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata to the test item gave a 72 -h EC50 47 mg/L based on geometric mean measured test concentrations. The No Observed Effect Concentration was 25 mg/L (Endpoints for regulatory use).

Aquatic Invertebrate

Exposure of Daphnia magna to the test item gave a 48-Hour EC50 62 mg/L based on the geometric mean test measured concentrations.  The No Observed Effect Concentration was 25 mg/L.
