Description of key information

Disperse Blue 077 is a black powder, solid at 20 °C. No melting was observed until 230 °C. The boiling point could not be determined as the substance started to undergo thermic decomposition at about 230 °C. The density was determined to be 1.4962 g/cm³. The particle size distribution was determined as follows: L10: 2.527 μm; L50: 9.766 μm; L90: 35.174 μm. The substance decomposes even before melting occurs at 230 °C. Hence, the vapour pressure determination is considered as scientifically not necessary. The n-octanol/water partition coefficent of the test item at 20 °C, from the individual solubility in water and n-octanol, was determined to be (log Pow) >6.9. The water solubility of the test substance at a temperature of 20 °C was determined to be <0.85 μg/L (without correction for the purity). The surface tension was determined to be 75.954 mN/m at room temperature ca 20 °C. The variation of specification factor was 0.0 mN/m. FAT 40278/D is a solid substance and decomposes starting at 230 °C, hence, the flash point determination is considered as technically not feasible. No auto-ignition was observed until 550 °C. The substance should be considered as not highly flammable. The substance is considered to be non-explosive and not oxidising.
