Description of key information
During a clinical trial with patients suffering from melasma (pigmentary disorder of facial skin), the topical application of a Metformin formulation (30%, w/w) daily for 8 weeks resulted in no adverse effects. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded thatMetformin has no potential for skin sensitization.
