Description of key information

In accordance with section 9.4 of Column 2 of Annex IX of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006, studies on the toxicity of a substance to terrestrial organisms need not be conducted if direct and indirect exposure of the soil compartment is unlikely. The chemical safety assessment indicated no need to obtain these data; the substance is only used in an industrial setting with no intended or anticipated release to the soil compartment, there is no evidence that the substance causes toxicity and the substance is readily biodegradable. It is therefore considered justified to omit the testing to investigate effects on terrestrial organisms.
