Description of key information

In the absence of an experimental data, the potential for Safranal P to undergo hydrolysis under environmental pH was assessed based on the functional groups present in the constituents of Safranal P. Both constituents (main constituent, approx 95%) and minor consitutent (ca 5%) incorporate only an aldehyde functional group - which is not hydrolysable. The structures otherwise consist only of a hydrocarbon skeleton.

In reference to the Tier 1 testing as outlied in the OECD 111 guideline, hydrolysis half-lives of => 1 year at 25'C can be assumed for pH 4.0, pH 7.0 and pH 9.0, for hydrolytically stbale molecules.
