Additional information

Two studies investigating the short-term toxicity of Reaction products of D-Glucose, n-Butanol and C10-12 (even numbered) alcohols to fish are available. In the first key study performed according to DIN 38412, the freshwater fish Leuciscus idus was exposed to nominal concentrations of 100, 215, 464 and 1000 mg/L of a 60% solution in a static test design. As a result, an LC50 (96 h) in a range of 129 - 278.4 mg a.i./L was reported (BASF, 1988).

In the second key study performed with a marine species according to PARCOM guideline 1995, Part B (modified OECD 203) and GLP, Cyprinodon variegatus was exposed to nominal concentrations of 2, 10, 50, 250 and 1000 mg/L of a 70% solution in a semi-static test design. As a result, an LC50 (96 h) of 78.4 mg a.i./L was obtained (AnalyCen ecotox, 2004).
