Remarks on result:
other: based on free chlorine

Any other information on results incl. tables

The RD50 for an atmosphere of chlorine has been estimated as 6.7 ppm and an atmosphere of sodium hypochlorite (based on free chlorine) as 4.1 ppm. The similarity of the results show that the irritancy of the sodium hypochlorite is associated with the chlorine content of the material. This test measures only respiratory ( sensory ) irritancy and does not take into account other forms of toxicity.
