Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Summary of classification:

Non explosive based on results of spark ignition assays and suspended dust ignition assays.

Non flammable liquid extract, because it contains water (no experimental data)

Not flammable or self-flammable for powder extract based on experimental results for suspended dust and for powder layers.

Not self-reactive or self-heating, because yeast extracts are known to be stable and are used as a food additives (no experimental data).

Not pyrophoric (liquid or solid) because yeast extracts include no chemical groups enabling pyrophoric properties (no experimental data).

Does not emit flammable gas in contact with water, because the extract is initially produced as a water extract and does not emit gas (no experimental data).

Not oxidising liquid based on an assay on a liquid. This is considered to be extrapolated to the powder: non oxidising solid.

The substance is not an organic peroxide.

No data on corrosion to metals.

No aspiration hazard because the test item is not made of hydrocarbons (biological origin); viscosity data are available.

All other GHS/CLP physico-chemical hazard types do not apply for a liquid or solid so these classifications can also be excluded.

Physico-chemical data sometimes depended on test item (notably, physical state).

The ranges retained for specific physico-chemical values are indicated below:
