Results and discussion

In vivo

Irritant / corrosive response data:
Application of 0.1 ml of 99.5% pure trichloroethylene directly to the rabbit eye produced a mild-to-moderate conjunctivitis with some epithelial abrasions being noted on examination with fluorescein.
Other effects:
Microscopic examination on day seven revealed epithelial keratosis in the process of healing. The eye had returned to normal within two weeks.
