Additional information

Propylene glycol butyl ether was readily biodegradable in the screening test according to OECD guideline 301E. Therefore no further biodegradation testing in water, sediment or soil is required. Propylene glycol butyl ether has a very limited potential to bio-accumulate based on a low log Kow (1.15) and bioconcentration factor (BCF). The predicted BCF for PnB is 3.16 (log BCF = 0.5), based on the results of the EPIWIN/BCF Program. Thus, derogation applies to bioaccumulation testing.

Based on the ready biodegradability and the low log Kow (1.15) derogation applies to stability and adsorption/desorption testing.
