No toxicity tests with soil microorganisms are available for propylene glycol butyl ether.

Propylene glycol butyl ether is readily biodegradable. From a fugacity model (McKay Level III)based on key physical and chemical property parameters, it can be concluded that the ultimate compartment is the aquatic compartment. Therefore, direct and indirect exposure to the soil compartment is unlikely and toxicity testing for soil microorganisms can be waived.
