Description of key information

There is one good and sufficient study available for this endpoint for ammonium thiocyanate, for which the NOEC is based on reproductive output and on parent body length. Using Dunnett's and Bonferroni-t tests, the Lowest Observed Effect Concentration (LOEC) based on reproductive output, and on parent body length were found to be 2.5 mg/1. The lowest Observed Effect Concentration (LOEC) based on weight of adult daphnids was 5 mg/L.

Based on these statistical results, the lowest NOEC is 1.25 mg/L (equivalent to 0.954 mg SCN-/L)

Additional information

The single study available for this endpoint is from a test that was thoroughly reported and well conducted. All relevent quality criteria is included with GLP accreditation, analytical monitoring and certificate of analysis. No significant deviations from the guideline or study plan. Software for statistical analysis not reported. Statistics for parental mortality were not included and reference test results were not included. However the points mentioned do not adversely effect the reliability of the study.
