Classification based on the available data:

1. According to Commission Regulation (EU) No 286/2011 of 10 March 2011 amending, for the purposes of its adaptation to technical and scientific progress, Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008

 

Acute classification

The existing acute data for fish, algae and Daphnia are shown in the table above 

As all effect values are > 1 mg/L,there is no acute classification for sodium thiocyanate, ammonium thiocyanate and potassium thiocyanate

 

Chronic classification

All three substances arereadily biodegradable, and the estimated worst case log Kow is 0.58. Chronic data are available for all three trophic levels as shown in the table above

According to Table 4.1.0, b(ii)sodium thiocyanate, ammonium thiocyanate and potassium thiocyanatehave no chronic classification as the lowest EC value is > 1 mg/L
