the study does not need to be conducted because the organic substance does not contain oxygen or halogen atoms and hence, the classification procedure does not need to be applied
Justification for type of information:
Expert statement: N,N-dimethyl-1-phenylmethanamine has no oxidizing properties as the substance is incapable of reacting exothermically with combustible materials on the basis of the chemical structure (see Manual of Tests and Criteria, appendix 6, article 6.1).

Description of key information

In accordance with REACh Regulation (EC) 1907/2006 Annex VII Column 2, a study is not needed if structural assessment establishes that the substance may not react exothermically with a combustible material. (waived based on expert statement)

The substance fulfills the CLP exemption criteria, therefore no further testing is required, and it is NOT classified as oxidising.
