Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information
Additional information
The likely environmental fate of the substance has been assessed based on the substances physico-chemical properties and relevant study data.
The substance is highly water soluble (234 g/l) and has a very low octanol/water partition coefficient (log10 Pow -2.94), indicating that the substance will predominately stay in the aquatic environment if released. The substances low adsorption cofficient (log10 Koc <1.25) indicates that the substance has low potential for adsorption to sediments or soils and is therefore not likely to partition from the aquatic compartment into the sediment or soil compartments.
Therefore the predominate environment fate pathway is considered to be the aquatic environment.
The substance is readily biodegradable (76% degradation after 5 days, 100% degradation after 15 days) based on the results of an OECD 306 Biodegradability in Seawater - Closed Bottle Test, which is also considered relevant for freshwater biodegradation.
A hydrolysis as a function of pH study showed some hydrolysis of the test substance, with the rate of hydrolysis increasing with a decrease in pH.
Based on these results the substance is not considered to have the potential to persist in the aquatic environment.
In addition to not persisting in the aquatic environment, based on the octanol/water partition coefficient (log10Pow-2.94) and results of a bioaccumulation study (maximum BCF of 6), the substance is considered to have low potential for bioaccumulation in aquatic organisms.
Further biodegradation studies in soils and sediments are considered to be unnecessary, as the substance is readily biodegradable and is not anticipated to partition into these compartments.
