Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Remarks:
Criteria used for interpretation of results: EU
Conclusions:
Based upon the referred classification criteria (Commission Directive 2001/59/EC of August 2001), C.I. Pigment Red 4 is considered to be “not irritating” to rabbit skin.
Executive summary:

Slight to marked orange staining produced by the test item on the treated skin was observed in all animals at the 1-hour reading and persisted as slight in all the animals until the end of the study. The grading of the erythema was not possible in all animals at the 1-hour, the 24-hour reading and in one animal 42 and 72 hours after treatment because of the staining produced by the test item. When the skin was assessable, no signs of erythema were observed in any animals.
