With an EC50 growth rate of 8.1 mg/l in this 96h Algae study pyromellitic acid (PAM or benzene-1,2,4,5 -tetracarboxylic acid) would qualify as toxic to the aquatic environment, chronic category 2. However, this substance is also readily biodegradable. Therefore no classification is needed
