Aquatic toxicity

Acute aquatic toxicity data indicate that 1,3 -diphenyl-2 -thiourea is harmful to both invertebrates and algae and has no effect on fish up to the limit of solubility.

Chronic data are available for daphnia and algae, with both EC10 comprised between 0.1 and 1 mg/L. In addition, 1,3 -diphenyl-2 -thiourea is not readily biodegradable. Based on these data, 1,3 -diphenyl-2 -thiourea should be classified according to regulation EC 1272/2008 as H411, toxic to aquatic life with long lasting effects.
