First-aid measures
Description of first aid measures:
General information:
Personal protection for the First Aider.
Take affected persons out of danger area and lay down.
Immediately remove any clothing soiled by the product.
After inhalation:
Supply fresh air. If required, provide artificial respiration. Keep patient warm. Consult doctor if
symptoms persist.
After skin contact:
Immediately wash with water and soap and rinse thoroughly.
Call a doctor immediately.
After eye contact:
Rinse opened eye for several minutes under running water. Then consult a doctor.
After swallowing:
Rinse out mouth and then drink plenty of water.
Do not induce vomiting; call for medical help immediately.
Information for doctor:
Causes severe necroses at prolonged skin-contact. Special risk for the eyes.
The inhalation of product dust may induce damages of the mucous membranes in the upper
respiratory tracts ("Glottis" oedema, that can necessitate intubation). Alleviation of pain. After
ingestion, take care for a immediate dilution with water. Risk of stomach perforation.
Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed:
No further relevant information available.
Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed
No further relevant information available.
Fire-fighting measures
Extinguishing media:
Suitable extinguishing agents:
Fire-extinguishing powder
Carbon dioxide
Sand
Foam
Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture:
Carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide
Nitrogen oxides (NOx)
Hydrogen cyanide (HCN)
Advice for firefighters:
Protective equipment:
Wear self-contained respiratory protective device.
Wear fully protective suit.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures:
Wear protective equipment. Keep unprotected persons away.
Environmental precautions: Do not allow to enter sewers/ surface or ground water.
Methods and material for containment and cleaning up: Pick up mechanically.
Handling and storage
Handling:
Precautions for safe handling
The usual precautionary measures are to be adhered to when handling chemicals.
Keep receptacles tightly sealed.
Information about fire - and explosion protection:
Keep ignition sources away - Do not smoke.
Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities
Storage:
Requirements to be met by storerooms and receptacles:
Store in cool, dry conditions in well sealed receptacles.
Protect from heat and direct sunlight.
Information about storage in one common storage facility: Store away from foodstuffs.
Further information about storage conditions:
Protect from humidity and water.
Keep container tightly sealed.
Storage class: 8 A (VCI 1998)

Exposure controls / personal protection
1. Technical protection measures
Control parameters:
Ingredients with limit values that require monitoring at the workplace:
105-60-2 epsilon-caprolactam (dust and vapour):
OES Short-term value: 40 mg/m³
Long-term value: 10 mg/m³
2. Organisational protection measures
Exposure controls
3. Hand protection
Protective gloves
The glove material has to be impermeable and resistant to the product/ the substance/ the
preparation.
Selection of the glove material on consideration of the penetration times, rates of diffusion and the
degradation
Due to missing tests no recommendation to the glove material can be given for the product/ the
preparation/ the chemical mixture.
Material of gloves
Nitrile rubber, NBR
Recommended thickness of the material: ≥ 0.35 mm
Penetration time of glove material
Value for the permeation: Level ≤ 8 h
The exact break trough time has to be found out by the manufacturer of the protective gloves and
has to be observed.
4. Feet protection
Wear suitable footwear.
5. Body protection
Use protective suit.
6. Eye protection
Tightly sealed goggles
Gauze goggles
7. Respiratory protection
In exceptional cases (e.g. exceeding of the air limiting value) respiratory protection is required.
Use dust protection mask or respiratory protection apparatus with filter P2. Observe further
national regulations concerning respiratory protection.
Stability and reactivity
Reactivity:
Chemical stability:
Thermal decomposition / conditions to be avoided:
Protect from heat and direct sunlight.
Protect from humidity and water.
Possibility of hazardous reactions: Reacts with acids.
Conditions to avoid: No further relevant information available.
Incompatible materials:
Store away from water.
Do not store together with acids.
Do not store together with alkalis (caustic solutions).
Hazardous decomposition products: sodium hydroxide
Additional information:
Temperatures > 100 °C may lead to spontaneous polymerization reaction with the formation of heat
none
Disposal considerations
Waste treatment methods:
Recommendation:
Must not be disposed together with household garbage. Do not allow product to reach sewage
system.
Disposal must be made according to official regulations.
Uncleaned packaging:
Recommendation: Dispose of packaging according to regulations on the disposal of packagings.
Recommended cleansing agents: Water, if necessary together with cleansing agents.
