p-Chlorobenzoyl chloride proved to be irritating to highly irritating to skin when applied up to 4 hours according current test guidelines.Therefor it should be classified as H315: Causes skin irritation.

After prolonged treatment corrosive effects were observed. This is probably due to the formation of hydrogen chloride as a hydrolysis product of p-chlorobenzoyl chloride.

p-Chlorobenzoyl chloride proved also to be irritant to the eye. The effects to the eye were fully reversible after 14 days.
