According to UN RTDG, substances with heat of decomposition below 300 J/g do not need to be tested for self-reactivity.
Furthermore, in section 20.3.3.3 the differential scanning calorimetry (as used for the determination of the melting point of the substance) is considered as a suitable method for the determination of the heat of decomposition.

In the temperature range from -100 °C to 500 °C, the thermograms show an endothermic effect beginning at approx. 220 °C which turns into an exothermic effect at 275 °C or 286 °C, respectively. The test item showed no further exothermic effects. The results are summarized in the following table.

The test item showed no distinct endothermic signal in the test that can be associated with a freezing point/melting point. The endothermic effect turning into an exothermic effect is associated with boiling under decomposition.

 

Due to no endothermic effect in the temperature range of -100 °C to room temperature the freezing point / melting point of the test item is < -100 °C.

 

Final Results

The test item exhibits no freezing point / melting point in the temperature range of -100 °C to room temperature as determined according to Regulation EC No. 440/2008 Method A.1. and OECD Test Guideline 102 (1995).
