2-Ethylhexyl acrylate (2-EHA) was run as a control allowing for benchmarking of the developed method with literature values. Two literature values exist for 2-EHA, 0.01 mmHg at 20°C (NTP, 1992) and 0.178 mmHg at 25°C (Daubert and Danner, 1989). The average of five test results for 2-EHA showed a vapor pressure of 0.015 mm Hg at 18°C.
Description of key information
MTDID 44430 has a calculated vapor pressure of 1.8E-05 mm Hg at 18 °C.
Key value for chemical safety assessment
- Vapour pressure:
- 0.002 Pa
- at the temperature of:
- 18 °C
Additional information
The vapor pressure of MTDID 44430 was measured using the gas saturation method, with measurement by thermal desorption gas chromatography/mass spectrometry. The measurement was benchmarked by measurement of 2 -ethylhexyl acrylate vapor pressure, with good agreement with literature values. The study was performed in accordance with a guideline study but not GLP compliant, therefore the study is considered reliable with restrictions.
In a supporting study, the vapor pressure of MTDID 44430 has an
extrapolated vapor pressure of 1.6E-6 mm Hg at 20 °C using the dynamic
method and extrapolated to lower temperatures using the Antoine
equation. The study was performed in accordance with a
guideline study but not GLP compliant, therefore the study is considered
reliable with restrictions. In a second supporting study, the vapor
pressure of MTDID 44430 was similarly evaluated as the first supporting
summary and was not GLP compliant, but was 2.84E-4 mm Hg at 20 °C
(5.74E-4 mm Hg at 25 °C). Since the extrapolation was based on fewer
data points, the key value is preferred.
