Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

First aid measures:

Remove contaminated clothing.

General advice:

Remove contaminated clothing.  If danger of loss of consciousness, place patient in recovery position

and transport accordingly. Apply artificial respiration if necessary.

First aid personnel should pay attention to their own safety.

If inhaled:

If difficulties occur after vapour/aerosol has been inhaled, keep patient calm, remove to fresh air and seek medical attention.

On skin contact:

Wash thoroughly with soap and water, seek medical attention.

On contact with eyes:

Immediately wash affected eyes for at least 15 minutes under running water with eyelids held

open, consult an eye specialist.

On ingestion:

Rinse mouth immediately and then drink plenty of water, seek medical attention.

attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media

water

dry extinguishing media

foam

CO2: carbon dioxide

Hazards during fire-fighting:

Temperature limit: 90 °C

The substances/groups of substances mentioned can be released if the product is involved in a

fire.

hydrogen cyanide  CAS: 74-90-8

Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and chemical-protective clothing.

Collect contaminated extinguishing water separately, do not allow to reach sewage or effluent systems.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions:

Avoid contact with the skin, eyes and clothing.

Environmental precautions:

Environmental precautions:

Suppress gases/vapours/mists with water spray jet.

Do not discharge into drains/surface waters/groundwater.

Do not discharge into waterways or sewer systems without proper authorization.

Methods for cleaning or taking up:

 For large amounts:

Pump off product.

For Residues:   Pick up with suitable absorbent material (e.g. sand, sawdust, general-purpose binder,.Kieselguhr)

Dispose of absorbed material in accordance with regulations.

Handling and storage

Advice on safe handling:

Ensure thorough ventilation of stores and work areas.

Suitable materials for transport:

LDPE: Low density polyethylene (LDPE)

HDPE: High density polyethylene (HDPE)

Stainless steel 1.4301 (V2)

Stainless steel 1.4401

gummed

GRP: Glass reinforced plastic (GRP)

Enameled

Protect against heat.

Temperature tolerance:

The packed product is not damaged by low temperatures or by frost.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Components with workplace parameter

Formamide

Respiratory Protection:

Suitable respiratory protection for higher concentrations or long-term effect:

Gas filter EN 14387 A: Gas filter for gases/vapours of organic compounds (boiling point

>65 °C, e. g. EN 14387 Type A)

Hand protection :

CR: chloroprene rubber (CR) - 0.5 mm coating thickness

NBR: nitrile rubber (NBR) - 0.4 mm coating thickness

butyl: butyl rubber (butyl) - 0.7 mm coating thickness

Supplementary note: The specifications are based on tests, literature

data and information of glove manufacturers or are derived from similar

substances by analogy. Due to many conditions (e.g. temperature) it

must be considered, that the practical usage of a chemical-protective

glove in practice may be much shorter than the permeation time

determined through testing.

Eye protection:

Safety glasses with side-shields (frame goggles) (e.g. EN 166)

General protective measures:

Under no circumstances should the product come into contact with the skin of pregnant women or be

inhaled by them.

Avoid contact with the skin, eyes and clothing.

Stability and reactivity

Thermal decomposition:

It is not a self-decompositionable substance.

Corrosion of metals:

No corrosive effect on metal.

Hazardous reactions:

Reacts with oxidizing agents.

Exothermic reaction.

Disposal considerations

Waste disposal of substance:

Must be sent to a suitable incineration plant, observing local regulations.

Contaminated packaging:

Contaminated packaging should be emptied as far as possible; then it can be passed on for

recycling after being thoroughly cleaned.
