Description of key information

Diisobutyl Carbinol (DIBC) is a non flammable solvent, not pyrophoric and not flammable on contact with water. The lower flammability limit is 0.8 % and the upper flammability limit is 5.7 %.
DIBC does not meet the classification criteria for flammable liquids.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
non flammable

Additional information

Flammable liquid means a liquid having a flash point of not more than 60 °C. The flash point of Diisobutyl Carbinol (DIBC) is 74 °C at normal pressure and the boiling point of DIBC is 178 °C. DIBC does not meet the classification criteria for flammable liquids.
