Additional information

Diisobutyl Carbinol (DIBC) is classified as readily biodegradable with high solubility, low vapor pressure, an estimated Log Kow of 3.08 and a low potential for bioaccumulation. According to REACH Annex IX requirements, long-term toxicity testing shall only be considered when the chemical safety assessment indicates the need for further investigations. The chemical safety assessment, according to Annex I, does not indicate a need to investigate any other effects since DIBC has no hazard classification based on available toxicity data. Therefore, terrestrial toxicity testing is waived for DIBC.
