In a GLP study conducted according to OECD Guideline 109, the density of trisodium EDDS was determined by gas comparison pycnometry at 20°C. The mean density (2 measurements) was 1.63 g/cm3 (van Helvoirt, 1993b).

 

In addition, in a GLP study conducted according to EU Method A.3, the relative density of EDDS acid was determined, on two occasions, using the pycnometer method. The mean density was calculated as 1.59 g/cm3at 19°C (Gair et al. 2002). [Data on EDDS free acid is considered relevant to use for understanding the potential vapour pressure of trisodium EDDS, and is acceptable for using as read-across information.]
