Water miscibility test

Test item (ml) Ultra-pure water (ml) Observation pH value
90 10 clear, homogeneous single-phase liquid 6.03
10 90 clear, homogeneous single-phase liquid 6.00
50 50 clear, homogeneous single-phase liquid 5.91
Conclusions:
The test resulted to be miscible with water at room temperature and pH ca 6.
Executive summary:

The water solubility of the test item was ivestigated following the indications and principles outlined into the OECD guideline 105.

In the course of the preliminary solubility tests the test item was mixed with ultrapure water in 2:1 test item/water ratio. After shaking homogeneous single-phase samples could be observed and no saturated solution could be prepared. Thus, additional pre-tests were also prepared: the test item was mixed with water in 1:9, 9:1 and 1:1 ratios. After shaking homogeneous single-phase samples could be observed, showing that the test item is miscible with water. Based on these observations, a miscibility test was performed.

The miscibility of the test item with water was tested at three different ratios (i.e. test item : water at 1 : 9, 9 : 1, 1: 1), at ambient temperature. Miscibility was checked visually after vigorous shaking.

The test resulted to be miscible with water at room temperature.

Conclusion

The test resulted to be miscible with water at room temperature and pH ca 6.
