Additional information

NX 8000J is a white powder and has a melting point of 239ºC and a boiling point of >400ºC. The density is 1220 kg/m3 at 21.6ºC, the vapour pressure is 3.864 x 10-11 Pa at 25ºC and the partition coefficient (log Pow) is 5.71 at 30ºC. As the water solubility is 0.00151 mg/l at 20ºC, the surface tension does not need to be determined (according to column 2 of REACH Annex VII).

NX 8000J is not flammable and negative results are predicted for flammability (contact with water) and pyrophoric properties. Based on its structure NX 8000J is predicted not to have oxidising properties and based on its structure and an oxygen balance of -237.7 the material is predicted not to have explosive properties.

21.1% of the material has a size <100 µm, 6.5% is <10 µm and 1.28% is <5.5 µm.

The dissociation constants were estimated using the pKalc function of PALLAS (CompuDrug, version 3.6.2.1, 2006). The constants obtained were 13.58 (acidic group RRCHOH), 16.71 (acidic group RCH2OH) and -2.8 (basic group RCH2OH).

In accordance with column 1 of REACH Annex IX, the stability in organic solvents study does not need to be conducted as the stability of the substance in organic solvents is not considered to be critical.

In accordance with section 2 of REACH Annex XI, the study does not need to be conducted as it is technically not feasible due to the substance being a high-melting point solid.
