Description of key information

3-(1H-benzimidazol-2-yl)-7-(diethylamino)-2-benzopyrone did not catch fire on being exposed to air at room temperature of 27°C and atmospheric pressure of 966 hPa. Also the self ignition temperature was estimated to be greater than 250 degree celcious. This indicates that 3-(1H-benzimidazol-2-yl)-7-(diethylamino)-2-benzopyrone is not auto-flammable.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Autoflammability / Self-ignition temperature at 101 325 Pa:
250 °C

Additional information

The chemical 3-(1H-benzimidazol-2-yl)-7-(diethylamino)-2-benzopyrone (Common name: Solvent Yellow 185) does not catch fire spontaneously upon exposure to air under normal conditions of temperature and pressure. Thus, the chemical is unlikely to be "Auto Flammable". Thus, this end point was considered for waiver.
