First-aid measures

- General advice: People who have come into contact with the substance or have inhaled vapors, even if there is no immediate vapor, should receive medical treatment.

- If inhaled: If danger of loss of consciousness, place patient in recovery position and transport accordingly.

- On skin contact: Take off contaminated clothing and shoes immediately. Wash off with soap and plenty of water.

- On contact with eyes: Immediately wash affected eyes for several minutes under running water with eyelids held open, consult an eye specialist.

- On ingestion: Immediately rinse mouth and then drink plenty of water, seek medicalattention.

- Most important symptoms and effects: Sensitization possible through skin contact, sensitization possible by inhalation, tearing of eyes, burning of the pharynx and nasal mucous membranes, nose bleeding, weakness and coughing, on the mucous membranes of the respiratory tract development of rhinitis, bronchial irritation, and shortness of breath, after oral intake nausea and vomiting, head and stomach pain, after intake of high doses shortness of breath, allergy and pulmonary edema. Sensitizing effect, particularly strong on the mucous membrane of the eye. As a result, visual disturbances due to acute edema, danger of conjunctivitis. Prolonged exposure causes burns and poorly healing wounds. Gastrointestinal disorders, and kidney damage are possible. Burning eyes, mucous membranes and skin. Cough, headache, malaise, shortness of breath.

Fire-fighting measures

- Suitable extinguishing media: alcohol-resistant foam or carbon dioxide

- Unsuitable extinguishing media: water, foam, dry powder

- Special protective equipment: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and chemical-protective clothing.

- Further information: In the event of excessive warming, the formation of explosive mixtures is possible

Accidental release measures

- Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures: Use personal protective equipment. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Keep people away and stay on the windward side. Access only for expert personnel with protective equipment. Use respiratory protection when exposed to vapors / dust / aerosol. Provide adequate ventilation.

- Environmental precautions: Do not get into the sewage system / surface water / groundwater to let. Retain and dispose of contaminated water.

- Methods and material for containment and cleaning up: Use neutralizing agent. Leaked product with liquid-binding material (sand, Absorb diatomaceous earth, acid binders, universal binders, oil binders). Provide adequate ventilation. Allow the spilled melt to solidify, then mechanically take up.

Handling and storage

- Precautions for safe handling: Do not use empty containers for other products. Clean contaminated protective clothing before removing. Ensure good ventilation / suction at the workplace. Avoid formation of aerosols. Ground all devices and apparatus. Protect from moisture. Use suitable excess containers for transport in glass bottles. Only fill in labeled containers. Keep container tightly closed.

- Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities: Store dry, keep away from moisture. Store in a cool place. Use only containers that are specifically allowed to the substance / product. Store away from acids and acid-forming substances. Do not store together with alkalis (bases). Store separately from oxidizing agents. Store separately from water.

- Storage condition: Protect from humidity and water at < 75 °C

Exposure controls / personal protection

- General measures: Clean contaminated protective clothing before removing. Keep away from food, drink and animal feed. Take off dirty, soaked clothes immediately. Wash hands before breaks and at the end of work. Separate storage of protective clothing. Do not inhale gases / vapors / aerosols. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Note: The substance may cause sensitization by inhalation or skin contact cause.

- Hand protection: BGR 195: "Rules for the use of protective gloves" (ZH 1/706) of the BG Chemistry should be noted. Selection of the glove material on consideration of the breakthrough times, permeation rates and degradation. The protective gloves used must meet the requirements of EC directive 89/686 / EEC as well as the standard EN 374 correspond. The specific conditions under which it is used such as the risk of cuts, abrasion and contact time must be taken into account.

- Body protection: Use liquid-tight protective suit, e.g. Tychem F or CPF 3. Use ventilated protective suit, e.g. Delta Muroroa V4 F1, or required work clothing established in individual cases through hazard analysis.

- Eye protection: tightly sealed safety googles

- Respiratory protection: Short term: filter device: Particulate filter. The protection level (P1 - P3) is dependent from the workplace-related limit values and the determined actual exposure. The information on the exposure scenarios are to consider.

Stability and reactivity

- Reactivity

: Reaction with potassium, sodium, ammonium salt solution, hydroxides under formation of carbon dioxide. Above 150 °C, decomposition and polymerization take place by small amounts of alkali compounds or amines. Violent reaction with strong oxidizing agents. With water hydrolysis to maleic acid. Reacts violently with water. In the event of excessive warming, the formation of explosive mixtures is also possible

- Chemical stability

: No decomposition recommended storage conditions.

- Conditions to avoid

: Electrostatic charge. Exposure to moisture

- Incompatible materials

: Strong oxidizing agents Alkali / alkaline earth hydroxides, alkali metals, sodium ions, cations, acids, humidity and bases

- Hazardous decomposition products: Carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide

Disposal considerations

Must not be disposed together with household garbage. Not drain into the sewage system. Under considerations of the official regulations a special waste treatment must be applied. Recovery or recycling if possible.
