Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

- The melting/freezing temperature of SCP liquor is in the range of <-22 °C to >115 °C.
- Two different methods were used for the determination of the melting temperature, Capillary method and Freezing temperature.
- According to Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 Annex VII (7.2) Column 2, the study does not need to be conducted below a lower limit of -20 °C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Due to the physical state of the test substance two different methods were used for the determination of the melting temperature.

Method 1

Capillary method

During the test from 30 °C to 115 °C the test substance was a brown viscous liquid containing undissolved particles. At about 115 °C the test substance boiled over and therefore no exact melting temperature could be determined. The undissolved particles did not melt until 115 °C.

Method 2

Freezing Temperature

During the test from 20 °C to -22 °C the test substance was a brown viscous liquid (suspension). The test substance did not solidify down to -22 °C.

From the experimental results it is concluded, that the melting/freezing temperature of SCP liquor 1 is in the range of <-22 °C to >115 °C.
