Description of key information

The lethal dose (LD50) of 3-chloroaniline in terrestrial arthropods [Apis mellifera] in a short term study of 48 hrs. on the basis of mortality effect was estimated to be 82.625 µg per animal.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Short-term EC50 or LC50 for soil dwelling arthropods:

Based on the studies summarized in the above table for the target substance 3-chloroaniline and the read across substance 3,4-dichloroaniline in terrestrial arthropods (Apis mellifera and Folsomia candida),the endpoint value was found to vary between the lethal dose (LD50) = 82.625 µg per animal and effective concentration (EC50) = 10 -30 mg/kg soil dw in a 48 hrs study to 28 days study on the basis of mortality and reproduction effect.
