Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The substance is considered as hydrolytically stable under environmental conditions and shall be considered as persistent in the environment. Due to the low log Kow the substance is regarded to be to bioaccumulating. In the environment the substance is expected to have a very high mobility.

Stability:

With estimated hydrolysis half-lives at pH 4, 7, and 9 of >1 years (at 25 °C), the substance is considered as hydrolytically stable under environmental conditions.

Biodegradation:

Due to lack of inherent biodegradability in a valid Zahn-Wellens-Test further testing of the substance for ready biodegradability was omitted. Therefore, the substance shall be considered as persistent for the PBT discussion without the need for further simulation testing.

Bioaccumulation:

The study on bioaccumulation is being waived based on the substance's low log Kow <-2, which is well below the trigger level for the conduct of a bioaccumulation study of log Kow3.

Transport and distribution:

Adsorption/desorption: Using KOCWIN the adsorption coefficient of the test item was estimated to be 1.41 (MCI method) and 7.53 x 10E-2 (Kow method). These values indicate that the test item will have a very high environmental mobility. However, it is anticipated that partitioning forces with the organic carbon content of soils and sediments may not be the dominant force controlling the mobility of the test item in the environment. Strong ionic interaction with clay particles, for example, will also influence the fate of the test item in the environment.
