Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 109 (Density of Liquids and Solids)
Deviations:
no
Principles of method if other than guideline:
The density ρ of a substance is defined as the quotient of its mass and its volume and is expressed in SI units kg/m³ or g/cm³ by a defined temperature. The density ρ is calculated from the difference in weight between the full and empty pycnometer and its volume.
GLP compliance:
no
Type of method:
pycnometer method

Individual results

Sample preparation: The test item was dried at 105 °C. The density was determined by the dry residue.

mo(g): mass of pycnometer empty

m1(g): mass of pycnometer with n-heptane

m2(g): mass of pycnometer with sample

m3(g): mass of pycnometer with sample filled up with n-heptane
