Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

72h-EC50 (Scenedesmus subspicatus, biomass /growth rate) > 0.05 mg/L (measured), 2h-EC50 (Scenedesmus subspicatus, biomass /growth rate) > 100 mg/L (nominal; supersaturated  solution), 72h-NOEC (Scenedesmus subspicatus, biomass /growth rate) >= 0.05 mg/L (measured), 72h-NOEC (Scenedesmus subspicatus, biomass /growth rate) >= 100 mg/L (nominal; supersaturated solution)

Additional information

Toxicity to algae was investigated in a reliable key study according to OECD 201 and in compliance with GLP (RCC, 2000, RL2). As the test item was highly insoluble in water, a limit test was performed with a supersaturated solution prepared at 100 mg/L test item and filtered through 1.2 μm glass wool filter. Test concentrations were analytically verified. During exposure, no adverse effect on the biomass production or growth rate was observed. In conclusion, the test item showed no sign of toxicity to algae above the maximum water solubility of the test item. Derived effect concentrations were: 72h-EC50 > 0.05 mg/L (measured), 72h-EC50 > 100 mg/L (nominal), 72h-NOEC >= 0.05 mg/L (measured) and 72h-NOEC >= 100 mg/L (nominal).
