Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Submission substance is not explosive

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Explosiveness:
non explosive

Additional information

The appraisal of the composition and molecular structure indicate without doubt that the submission substance will not show a rapid decomposition or reaction under release of energy and gaseous reaction products. This theoretical result is supported by the physical properties and the negative total decomposition energy determined by DSC-measurements (see RCC project 742397).

Explosive test articles normally show a very high decomposition energy (>2000 kJ/kg).

In conclusion, the submission substance was considered to be not explosive and no experimental determination had to be performed according to the guideline in force.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on structural considerations as well as results from differential scanning calorimetry (exothermic decomposition energy < 500 J/g), no classification requirements exist for the submission substance with regard to explosive properties.
