Description of key information

The aquatic toxicity of Azuril was assessed with toxicity tests to fish, aquatic invertebrates (Daphnia), algae and microorganisms (activated sludge). The main results of these OECD guideline studies are the following:

OECD 203 - Acute toxicity to fish - LC50 = 3.9 mg/L ( measured concentration)

OECD 202 - Acute toxicity to Daphnia - EC50 (immobilisation) = 1.5 mg/L (measured concentration)

OECD 201 - Toxicity to algae - EC50 (growth) = 1.6 mg/L (measured concentration) - NOEC (growth) = 0.39 mg/L (measured concentration)

OECD 209 - Toxicity to activated sludge - EC50 > 10 mg/L (nominal concentration) - NOEC = 10 mg/L (nominal concentration)
