Key result
Flash point:
ca. 136 °C
Remarks on result:
other: Mean of two measured flash points both recorded at 136.3°C

The preliminary test was performed from 30 to 200 °C. Flash point was observed at 136.2 °C and the test material was measured in the main test with two parallel tests from 121°C.

Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
The flash point of the test material Azuril (Reaction mass of 3-(4-methyl-3-pentenyl)cyclohex-3-ene-1-carbonitrole and 4-(4-methyl-3-pentenyl)cyclohex-3-ene-1-carbonitrile) was determined to 136°C, according to ASTM D 6450, using a MINIFLASH automatic point tester with the continuously closed cup.
Executive summary:

The flash point of the test material Azuril was determined using a MINIFLASH automatic point tester with the continuously closed cup. The flash point of Azuril was determined to be 136°C.

Description of key information

The flash point of Azuril was determined to be 136°C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flash point at 101 325 Pa:
136 °C

Additional information

In the course of this study an important physico-chemical property, the flash point of test item was determined. The flash point provides a simple, convenient index for assessing the flammability of a wide variety of materials. The test was performed by use of a MINIFLASH automatic flash point tester with the continuously closed cup – electric arc method according to ASTM D 6450.

The flash point of Reaction mass of 3-(4-methyl-3-pentenyl)cyclohex-3-ene-1carbonitrile and 4-(4-methyl-3-pentenyl)cyclohex-3-ene-1-carbonitrile was determined to be 136 °C.
