Additional information

Based on the available data the substance is not acutely toxic to fish. Effects on Daphnia and algae were observed in acute tests. The substance showed also chronic toxicity to algae (NOEC) and the data on Daphnia reproduction.


 


Acute fish (OECD 203): LC50 96h > 119 mg/L (initial measured), > 100mg/L (nominal)


Acute Daphnia (OECD 202): EC50 24h = 7.3 mg/L (measured), 18 - 32 mg/L (nominal)


Long-term Daphnia (OECD 211): NOEC 21days= 3 mg/L (WAF, loading rate), 0.37 (measured)


Algae (ISO 8692; OECD 201): ErC10 72h = 7.8 mg/L (WAF, loading rate), 0.687 mg/L (measured), ErC50 72h = 103.9 mg/L (WAF, loading rate), 5.432 mg/L (measured)


 


However, in the acute Daphnia study DMF was used and test small amounts of undissolved test substance were floating at the surface of the test solution which might have caused the effects.


Furthermore, the substance was tested with its impurities. Since the impurities might have a higher solubility level than the main component, the composition of the test product in the water phase could differ markedly from the original composition of the test product and might have contributed to the observed adverse effects in algae and Daphnia.
