Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Adsorption/desorption screening can be waived if the substance has a low potential for adsorption or if the substance is readily biodegradable. Based on an experimentally-determined octanol-water partition coefficient (log Kow) of ca. -1.08 and a readily biodegradable test result in an OECD Test Guideline 301D study, potassium allophonate has a low potential for adsorption. Therefore, adsorption/desorption screening is waived in accordance with Column 2 of Annex VIII of Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006.

Additional information

In accordance with Column 2 of Annex VIII of Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006, adsorption/desorption screening does not need to be conducted if, based on the physicochemical properties, the substance can be expected to have a low potential for adsorption (e.g., the substance has a low octanol water partition coefficient), or if the substance and its relevant degradation products decompose rapidly.
