Description of key information

The water solubility of potassium allophonate was tested according to Organisation for Economic Co-Operation and Development (OECD) Test Guideline 105. When testing a series of test solutions with serially increasing concentrations of the test substance, the water solubility was found to be >30.03 %w/w and <39.98 %w/w (corresponding to >429,890 mg/L and <666,200 mg/L). In a separate test reported in the same study, a single test substance concentration of 33 %w/w was found to be initially soluble; however after overnight standing, excess test substance was clearly visible. Therefore, the results of the separate test are ultimately insoluble. Given that potassium allophonate is soluble at 30.03 %w/w (429,890 mg/L), potassium allophonate is considered to be very soluble (i.e., >10,000 mg/L).
