Hydrolysis was >50% after 2.4 hours at pH 4,7 and 9 which indicated that AOSA could be considered hydrolytically unstable under environmental conditions (i.e. estimated half life being As the preliminary test indicated that >50 hydrolysis had occurred in 2.4 hours at 50 °C at each of the three pH values no further testing was required.
