The test substance is covered by the category approach of methylenediphenyl diisocyanates (MDI). Hence, data of the category substances can be used to cover this endpoint. Any experimental estimation of water solubility for MDI is questionable and therefore an estimation based on a calculation has been carried out. This provided a water solubility value of 0.148 mg/L for MDI/1,3-BD/DEG/PG, which may be used for the CSA, although it is only of theoretical value.
